Jodie Whittaker named Peter Capaldi’s successor in Doctor Who

She is the first female Time Lord.

Broadchurch star Jodie Whittaker will become the first female Doctor in Doctor Who, the BBC has announced.
The actress, 35, will take over from Peter Capaldi as the 13th reincarnation of the Time Lord.
Capaldi, who first stepped into the Tardis in 2013, will be seen for the last time by viewers in the 2017 Christmas special.
Interesting comments online such as Capaldi being "the worst actor ever to play the character".....Capaldi actually LIFTED the last series better than any previous actor.

Mostly a lot of "A woman doctor??!!!" Really.

Some have spotted it for what it is though, political correctness where an attractive young woman now has the lead role and gods know how the scripts will pan out because I wont be watching. Marvel Comics and other fields learnt the price of adopting SJW attitudes and as the BBC has been replacing older male presenters (under many nonsensical reasons) with younger female ones for the past few years (and some of the older female presenters because they do not fit the demographic) we've seen tv 'entertainment sink lower and lower. At least not having a tv gives me the edge.

For me the(Capaldi's) Doctor making the ultimate sacrifice fighting the Cybermen was where Dr Who ended.  All the sentimental nonsense after he had fallen was pure tripe.  Sad that Capaldi was pushed out (Moffatt deserved it) but the BBC must be politically correct and I just hope this fails.

At least Marvel can feel justified in publishing a new Dr Who comic now!
